Our house is a former bergerie. In the past, shepherds and goatherds kept their animals here. All over Southern France, and especially in the Corbières, where wine is now the main crop, countless stone houses like this are scattered across the hills. Many of these buildings are now being repaired and lovingly restored.
Our Bergerie comes with several plots totalling 3 hectares of land. One of them lies directly in front of the house. On what used to be untended ground we have uncovered wild olive trees, pistachio bushes, lavender, thyme and much more. This area now has the character of a park.
Our Bergerie lies on the Cathar Way, nestled between forest and vineyards, yet close enough to the village that you can reach the well-stocked village supermarket by bike, by car or on foot in 15 minutes.
Within sight of the house rises the ruin of a castle from the 12th century.
The house has a solar power system and is self-sufficient.
In 2022 fibre-optic cable was laid, so we have fast and reliable internet.
Our terrace and the seating and resting places scattered across the grounds are also available to our guests.
